Vicar Writes 5th/ 6th Mar
The floor of the largest sanctuary (Hall 1) is almost completed. You can now walk into parts of the building. I like every bit that I am experiencing – the views, sense of space and the ministry possibilities as I try to imagine how the place can come to life after it is completed.
The sky terrace is large and can easily hold a reception. The view from the link bridge is great, with a good view over Hall 2, where the Saturday Service and Chinese Services will be held. Walking into Hall 2, we can’t help but marvel at this uniquely shaped sanctuary. I managed to walk into my office, which has a good view of Holland Village. And there will be more to see in the coming weeks. It’s exciting!
Please continue to pray for safety and the welfare of the workers and the successful completion of the project. We are now intensely involved in selection of interior design fittings and related details.
The SJCK Carnival is coming up this weekend. I am aware that some of you are just very busy, especially those who are already engaged with the current Alpha Courses. Perhaps this is a good opportunity to invite ‘the rest of SJC’, i.e. those who are visiting or new to SJC to join in. It is fun, meaningful and a great way to make new friends from the church and Kindie. And there will be home-made dishes to savor.
Pas Henry Yeo is still away in Cambodia with some youth Servers. Our current Marriage Preparation Course is in progress at Calvin and Su Sian’s residence on Saturdays, with four new couples participating. Ivan Lim will be away with a group of 16 (all couples) to minister to the people at the Halfway Houses and orphanage in Fu Zhou, China. Apart from being involved in giving through missions, these trips will also enhance the experience of the givers. Do keep these in your prayers.
