Worship Ministry

Worship Ministry

For too long, the Church has associated “worship” with “music”. While music does play an important aspect in worship, it has been accorded too much credibility for the role it plays. A.W. Tozer’s words might not be the most sweet sounding to our ears, but for those serving in this ministry or seeking a deeper understanding of worship, it is worth listening and contemplating. “The Church has surrendered her once lofty concept of God and has substituted for it one so low, so ignorable, as to be utterly unworthy of thinking, worshipping men…We have lost our spirit of worship and our ability to withdraw inwardly to meet God in adoring silence.” * Worship is more than music.

Worship is the HEART of surrenderedness that comes from encountering the holiness of a God who laid down His own life to save one wretched as we are. It is the SPIRIT of adoration that comes with the realization that the width, depth and height of the love of God cannot be measured. It is the EXPRESSION of one’s gratitude to the bountiful grace and faithfulness of an eternal and unchanging God. Worship is a life LIVED OUT in surrenderedness, adoration and thanksgiving. Worship is a discipline. A practice. A life time.
